Leaking Toilet Floods Home

These homeowners were out of town enjoying a nice vacation, when out of the blue they got a call from the water company. The company was calling to ask them if they were aware that they had water running in the home for four days straight, which was obviously news to them. The water company was able to shut the water off to the home but at that point the damage had already been done. The homeowners wisely called SERVPRO and we were able to get out there on a Saturday afternoon and begin the mitigation process. The issue began on the second level of the home and caused significant damage on that level as well as the main level and the basement. Among materials affected were hardwood flooring, drywall on the walls and ceiling, and tile flooring. Removing those affected materials as quickly as possible was imperative in order to minimize any further damage and begin the drying process. SERVPRO was able to complete the mitigation and get the home dried out in less than a week, allowing the homeowners to quickly begin the reconstruction process.
