Hurricane Ida path The picture shows the devastating path that Ida took

The end of August in to September, is generally known as the peak or most active time of hurricane season. It surely lived up to that name this year as Hurricane Ida made landfall in Louisiana on August 29th, which coincidentally, is the same date that Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana 16 years earlier. Ida was classified as a category 4 with maximum winds reaching 150 mph, just shy of category 5. Not only did Ida effect Louisiana and the southeastern region of the country, its effects were felt throughout the northeastern part of the country as the hurricane caused severe flooding and devastation throughout multiple states. Ida also caused tornadoes to touch down in six different states throughout the country. This was an unprecedented event that surely made its mark.
