Storms Rip through Illinois

Last week a very severe thunderstorm moved throughout northern Illinois, bringing strong winds, rain and hail with it. Wind gusts as high as 60 mph swept through the area. Their were reports of half-dollar sized hail, which could cause some damage if if it were to hit your car or home. The rain that came with the storm caused flooding in some areas and some homes. The volume of rain was too great to keep up with, especially when dealing with residential sump pumps. After what seemed to be a little bit of a drought, the area has seen a substantial amount of rainfall in the last month. Starting with the devastating tornado that tore through the suburbs and ending with last weeks heavy storms.
